The Student Nurse Behind Bleepbook

Hi, I’m Ginella, the student nurse behind Bleepbook.

I’m building Bleepbook alongside university, placements, work and everyday life. It started with the notes and explanations I was already making to help myself understand what I was seeing in practice.

Sometimes the information I needed existed, but it was spread across different places or written in a way that took far too long to make sense of. I wanted something clearer, practical and easy to return to before a shift, during revision or after seeing something new on placement.

How Bleepbook started

At first, Bleepbook was simply a place to share the kinds of resources I would have wanted as a student. As I moved through different placements, the idea grew with me.

I began creating placement handbooks, clinical explanations, realistic patient scenarios and small resources for the questions students often have but may not always feel confident asking.

What started as a website is gradually becoming a connected learning hub. The aim is to help student nurses move between anatomy, conditions, clinical practice and placement without everything feeling separate.

Bleepbook includes UK-focused nursing content, placement support, learning articles, patient scenarios, free resources and practical handbooks.

I try to explain things in plain language without removing the detail that matters. Some students prefer a full explanation, while others need a quick visual or a short example before the subject begins to click. There is room for both.

I am still learning too

I am not writing from the position of someone who has finished learning. I am a student nurse working through the same placements, assessments and unfamiliar situations as the people I create Bleepbook for.

That is also why the information here is designed to support university teaching and clinical learning, not replace local policy, professional guidance or advice from the registered staff supervising your practice.

Bleepbook will continue to change as I learn, improve older resources and build new ones. I want it to be useful, honest and properly organised, rather than a collection of information with nowhere to go.
